QUESTION 1. AMENDMENT TO PORTSMOUTH HOME RULE CHARTER BUDGET PROCESS
“SHALL ARTICLE II, SECTION 208 OF THE PORTSMOUTH TOWN CHARTER BE AMENDED TO ELIMINATE THE CURRENT PROCESS FOR CALLING AND HOLDING A SPECIAL TOWN MEETING FOR RECONSIDERATION OF THE FINAL BUDGET ADOPTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL, AND TO REPLACE IT WITH A NEW PROCESS FOR HOLDING A BUDGET REFERENDUM, AS PROVIDED BY THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER SET FORTH IN A MOTION VOTED ON BY THE TOWN COUNCIL ON MARCH 26, 2007?”
QUESTION 2. WIND TURBINE INSTALLATION BOND AND/OR NOTES NOT TO EXCEED $3,000,000
“SHALL AN ACT, PASSED AT THE 2007 SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, ENTITLED ‘AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF PORTSMOUTH TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS AND/OR NOTES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $3,000,000 TO FINANCE THE ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION OF A WIND TURBINE AT PORTSMOUTH HIGH SCHOOL AND/OR A WIND TURBINE AT PORTSMOUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL’ BE APPROVED?”

The Town of Portsmouth has a new tax payment drop box!
For your convenience, the Town has installed a tax payment drop box! The drop box is for CHECKS only - no cash, please! The box will be emptied at 9:00 a.m. of each workday and tax payments will be posted as received the prior workday (ex., drop off before 9:00 a.m. October 6 and posted as October 5). Just one more way the Town is trying to better serve its citizens!
